I like this photo, for me it looks like a matchmaking scene. It seems like the groom came to make a proposal or take the bride from her home to the church and she is greeting him from the widow. That is all symbolic of course but it’s very lovely and looks some traditional Italian. Since Italians keep and adore their own customs, I think this “window scene” can be a kind of tribute to the old Sicilian matrimonial habit of meeting the groom by the bride. It’s really nice that Sicilians and Italians at all keep and protect their traditions so thoroughly, it’s a really rare thing in our modern life.
